A piece of New York in Berlin

The truth and nothing but the truth

Supreme burger, interior

Finding good service in Berlin is like looking for a long-term relationship in a gay sex club: quite unlikely. So when the waiter at Supreme asked us whether we needed free water for our medication (the usual Xanax, you know the drill), we thought we didn’t hear it correctly. And when he came back a bit later with extra hankeys for our fatty hands (well, basically fatty everything), we almost fell out of our luxury chairs.

This is actually a great place to chill, not so hyped as most other burger places in Berlin. Maybe that is because it is in the tourist Mitte area, a neighborhood as funky as Theresa May’s dresses (there are less convincing reasons to become gay, believe us). So Supreme is basically a hipster-free ride. And a good one.

Even the interior isn’t the usual fucked-up dark Berlin mess: It is a New York-styled bar with comfy seats and benches. Gentle hiphop is coming through the speakers, and you just want to relax and indulge in the beautiful velvet. Thank god they haven’t raised the prices to New York levels as well: we have been to places that brought us closer to bankruptcy.

That was a long story, dude. Ze burgers?!

Yes, sorry about that long intro, we were just overwhelmed by the service. The burgers… top-10 material as well, but not as overwhelming as the interior and the service. The meat looks genuinely homemade-grinded though, you could still see the meat structure. The only complaint was that the meat wasn’t very spiced, but that is something most restaurants don’t excel at (with Grindhouse‘s Crispy American burger probably being a good exception).

Supreme, mariachi burger

So, a solid top-10-burger, and the fries were even better. The art of pommes is often underestimated. But Supreme just delivered, with solid potatoes that looked home-cut as well. You don’t have to go to great lengths if you get the basics right!

Famous last words?

The homemade lemonade. Oh man. #TheSecretGay guy loved the taste (very sweet) and the way it was presented (in a Weck glass), two more reasons that proove he is gay. Seriously, don’t complicate by ordering beer or something, just go for the refreshing lemonade. We’re trying to recreate them at home (and will probably fail as usual).
